Day Programs

Spotlight Camps (Grades 6-9)

FaySummer Spotlight Camps

FaySummer's Spotlight Camps are for campers entering grades 6-9 who are interested in a full-day, immersive program designed to build upon existing skills and interests, all in a fun and supportive setting.

FaySummer Spotlight Camps are led by experienced teachers and coaches with a demonstrated expertise in their program area. All camps take place on Fay's 66-acre campus, which includes state-of-the-art academic facilities, air-conditioned classrooms, ten full-size fields, an indoor turf field, a baseball diamond and a softball diamond with three batting cages, four basketball courts, a fitness center, tennis courts, and more.

During our Spotlight Camps, campers participate in programming focused on that camp's topic for the vast majority of each day, but we are also excited to be able to give campers choice time to explore Fay's facilities, such as the outdoor swimming pools, rock climbing walls, and archery range.

Join Fay’s golf coach and faculty member Joe Buteau for this intensive golf program. During the week, four mornings will be spent at the Juniper Hill Golf Course joining the club pros for their program. During the rest of the time, campers will be at Fay or other local courses and facilities and will dedicate their time to working on specific skills. Campers will cover putting, chipping, full swing, on-course instruction, etiquette, rules of golf, and more. We’ll use video analysis, training aids, and fun games to develop campers into better players. Bring clubs if you have them, but if you don’t they will be provided. What better way to spend a week this summer?

Digital Photography Camp
July 7-11 for Grades 7-9
During this camp, campers will explore campus and take pictures as they learn the basics of digital photography. They’ll learn about composition, lighting, and other core strategies that allow professionals to take incredible photos. Along the way, they’ll have an “editing day,” go on nature tours, and even create professional portfolios.

Artificial Intelligence Camp
July 14-18 for Grades 6-9
Learn how to use online AI tools to generate essays, stories, music, TV shows, and even games. Campers will cultivate their own creativity while creating AI symphonies, working with partners and AI to create animated books, and generating AI animations. Campers will also gain access to a suite of tools that can help with projects in the future, build familiarity with the new AI world we are moving into, and even understand when and when not to use this powerful new tool.

Musical Theater Camp
July 21-25 for Grades 7-9
Get ready to put on a performance of a lifetime during this weeklong intensive musical theater program. During this camp, campers will sing, act, and dance their way through classical and contemporary musical theater scenes and songs. Campers will work on performing musical theater pieces and will also create a set, costumes, and props for a final showcase for families to view. This program is designed for both new and seasoned musical theater enthusiasts.

Video Game Design Camp
July 21-25 for Grades 7-9
Campers will dive into game development while learning about the fundamentals of game design and HTML programming. They’ll use cutting-edge AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. Campers will also hone their writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. At the end of the week, campers will collaborate on a group project where they will practice the techniques they learned to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family.

Fencing Camp
July 28 - August 1 for Grades 7-9
During this Spotlight Camp, campers will be taught the basic skills of fencing: footwork, blade moves, safety, and the foundations of strategic thinking by instructors from Zeta Fencing. They also will learn about the three disciplines of modern fencing (épée, foil, sabre) and will focus on fencing with Olympic-style sabres. On the last day, campers will compete in an in-house tournament on fully equipped fencing strips with Olympic-standard electric scoring equipment.

Entrepreneurship Camp
July 28 - August 1 for Grades 7-9
Have you ever wanted to start your own business or website? In this class for budding entrepreneurs, that’s exactly what you’ll do! You’ll work with fellow campers to come up with a simple company idea, taking it as far as it will go before the program ends. You’ll create a business plan, enlist friends and family, and set up everything you need to be a junior entrepreneur: a first email address, a basic app or website, and a presentation. Ultimately, you’ll share your idea with friends and family, work hard to get a first customer, and present all your progress to the whole group.
